Job summary

UpMarket is seeking a content-focused social media lead to own our calendar and online presence. You’ll think about what to say and how to say it, stay tuned to markets and tech news, and write clearly without hand-holding.

You’ll work directly with the Head of Marketing to build a growing content system from scratch, managing posts, newsletters, blogs, and investor-facing content while tracking what works.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in a content or social media role where you owned a channel.
• A LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok presence you're comfortable sharing.
• Clean, direct writing — no filler, no corporate language.
• Genuine interest in startups, investing, or private markets.
• Reliable with deadlines and self-directed in day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

• Post consistently across LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, with content tied to what's happening in private markets and investing
• Write the weekly email newsletter, blog posts, and company spotlights. Investor-facing content goes through a compliance review before it goes live (turnaround is typically 3-5 business days, so planning ahead is part of the job)
• Create graphics and short-form visuals for social
• Write and publish SEO pages in our CMS (WordPress or Ghost)
• Track performance and adjust based on what's working
