Directive Consulting is a performance marketing agency for SaaS and Tech companies, focusing on Customer Generation methodology to hit SQL targets through Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, and Video strategies.

Note: This role is internally titled Content Marketing Strategist.

The Content Strategists and Sr Content Strategists are client-facing roles responsible for day-to-day deliverables, creating and managing strategies, and communicating with clients and internal teams. They handle more Enterprise clients and must understand their service line deeply to create holistic marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of content strategy, technical SEO (site audits, structured data, Core Web Vitals), and the ability to blend technical insights with content initiatives to drive organic growth and search visibility.

Roles And Responsibilities
Strategic Excellence and Best Practices
  • Develop and implement custom marketing strategies aligned with client goals and Directive best practices.
  • Optimize strategies based on project phases, past performance, and ongoing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Associate Directors to address roadblocks and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Create creative briefs and develop content campaigns based on insights.
  • Apply frameworks like LTV modeling, customer generation, share of SERP, and content production.
Goal Setting
  • Analyze data from tools like Google Analytics, CRM, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to set measurable goals.
  • Work with AsDs to review and finalize goals before presenting to clients.
Project Management
  • Oversee execution, assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Use Asana for workflow management and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with content writers, designers, and project managers to deliver quality campaigns.
Communication
  • Act as the main client contact, building trust-based relationships.
  • Communicate proactively via Slack and meetings about deliverables and timelines.
  • Inform leadership about account status, opportunities, and challenges.
Reporting and Insights
  • Prepare and present updates on strategy progress, including bi-weekly NSM reviews, monthly/quarterly reports, and bi-annual reviews.
Foundational SEO Skills
  • Conduct SEO audits, identify issues, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Execute on-page and off-page SEO strategies, including keyword research, meta tags, internal linking, and outreach.
  • Develop link-building campaigns to increase domain authority and organic traffic.
Tools
  • Must Have: Screaming Frog, SEMrush, GA4, Search Console, Excel.
  • Nice to Have: Ahrefs, STAT, BrightEdge.
