Job description

Breaktime Media is looking for a Content Marketing Coordinator: a proactive, creative writer and content strategist who will shape how Breaktime Media shows up in the commerce marketing industry. Working closely with the marketing, sales, and client services teams, this person will plan and produce the content that builds our brand presence and reputation, positions Breaktime as a thought leader, and generates leads for the B2B side of the business.

In this role, you will co-own our content strategy with the marketing team and own its execution from idea to publish, with a clear path to owning the full content strategy as the role grows. To be successful, you need a strong understanding of content marketing, a willingness to experiment with new formats, and the project management skills to keep many pieces moving and on deadline. You will communicate across departments, lead content meetings, and bring ideas to the table without waiting to be asked.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the head of marketing on the content strategy and own the day-to-day execution, including planning and managing the editorial calendar across web, email, social, and sales channels.
  • Write, edit, and publish thought leadership content such as articles, blog posts, white papers, bylines, and point-of-view pieces that position Breaktime as an authority in commerce marketing.
  • Develop case studies, infographics, and award submissions that showcase client results and campaign performance.
  • Own content for the Breaktime website and resource hub, keeping the blog, resource pages, and interactive gallery current, and supporting content needs for site updates and launches.
  • Write search-optimized content and help execute the website's SEO strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and growing our online reputation.
  • Optimize content for answer engines and generative AI search (AEO/GEO) so Breaktime is surfaced and cited in tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. This includes structuring content around the questions buyers ask, adding clear summaries and FAQs, and tracking how often Breaktime appears in AI-generated answers.
  • Partner with sales to create and maintain proposals, one-pagers, and other sales collateral, building materials from our design templates.
  • Create content for new product and program launches, from messaging and website copy to sales collateral, email, and social.
  • Write content for B2B and B2C newsletters and client emails in partnership with the Marketing Coordinator, who manages builds and sends.
  • Repurpose content across formats, such as turning BTM Off the Shelf podcast episodes, webinars, and campaign results into articles, social posts, and sales material.
  • Experiment with new content formats and track performance against key metrics, using what you learn to refine the content mix and report results to the team.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and message across every piece of content, and help document content guidelines and processes for the team.
  • Lead content planning meetings and collaborate across marketing, sales, and client services to gather stories, data, and subject-matter input.
  • Opportunity to write and edit content for our consumer properties, Dailybreak and Best Daily Recipes.
  • Assist in other company projects as needed.

  • Extraordinary attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once
  • Comfort working with sales and client teams to turn data and campaign results into clear, persuasive stories
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
