Job summary

The Harris County Attorney's Office (HCAO) is hiring a Communications Coordinator to support the Communications and Outreach Division. The Coordinator will help create and maintain internal and external newsletters, website content, and print materials, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the role emphasizes strong writing, editing, and project coordination, with potential oversight of interns and collaboration across the team to advance HCAO's

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2–4 years in communications, public affairs, marketing, or similar role.
• Experience with communications strategy, writing, public relations, or similar work.
• Experience may include jobs, internships, fellowships, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Write, design, and distribute internal and external newsletters on a regular schedule.
• Draft and edit brochures, handouts, one-pagers, and other print materials.
• Maintain copy on the HCAO website and coordinate updates with IT.
• Support internal communications, including intranet and internal emails.
• Draft social media copy to support content calendars.
• Create presentations and internal documents as needed.
• Maintain editorial calendars and track deliverables and assets.
• Assist with light project management to ensure branding and timely delivery.
