General Summary

The Harris County Attorney's Office (HCAO) is seeking a Multimedia Coordinator to join our Communications and Outreach Division. The Harris County Attorney is the chief civil legal officer for Harris County. Our office represents the County, elected officials, and employees in legal matters and works on behalf of the residents through strategic litigation and enforcement of laws that protect the public.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help tell the story of our work through graphics, photography, and video. From concepting and shooting social content to designing graphics for email and print, you'll help us elevate the visibility of our office and connect with the community. This position reports to the Multimedia Specialist and plays a key role in advancing the mission and initiatives of HCAO through strategic multimedia storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create graphics for a variety of platforms and purposes, including social media, email, flyers, and other print and digital materials.
  • Support content for HCAO's social media channels, including pulling elements together to create posts and posting to various platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to HCAO's social media channels as necessary, in coordination with the Communications team.
  • Reporting on social media and content engagement and performance, including compiling metrics and basic analysis.
  • Capture and edit photo and video content to highlight the office's work, initiatives, and events.
  • Support live event coverage, including press conferences, community events, and major announcements.
  • Collaborate on the development of digital campaigns, including graphics, social media assets, and printed materials such as flyers and brochures.
  • Assist in upholding brand consistency across all visual communications.
  • Contribute to overall Communications and Outreach Division efforts, including event support and internal communications.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience with graphic design, content creation, and photo/video production.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in relevant positions where similar skills were utilized.
    • An Associate Degree may be substituted for additional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of related equipment and software.
  • Experience creating graphics for a variety of formats and use cases (e.g., social media, email, flyers)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with photo and video capture, editing, and production, as well as related lighting and camera equipment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and content optimization for each.
  • Ability to attend events that occur outside of typical working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and problem solve when needed.

  • Previous experience working on a communications or media team is preferred.
  • A sincere interest in public service and/or local government.
  • Experience or interest in working with diverse communities.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator) or other comparable design and editing software.
  • Experience with social media scheduling or analytics tools.

Located in downtown Houston, HCAO serves as the chief civil law office for Harris County, Texas’s largest county. About County Attorney Abbie Kamin

Harris County Commissioners Court appointed Abbie Kamin to serve as County Attorney. She took office on June 15, 2026. Kamin is a native Houstonian, attorney, and public servant who has represented District C on Houston City Council since 2020. Prior to her service on City Council, she practiced law with a focus on general civil litigation and civil rights litigation, including work involving voting rights and Title IX matters. She also served as Associate Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League’s Southwest Region and previously worked in Texas Legislature. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from Tulane University. County Attorney Kamin leads the office with a focus on effective legal representation, sound public administration, professionalism, and service to Harris County

Position Type and Typical Work Schedule
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, however work hours may vary depending on departmental needs.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
  • This job typically operates in a professional office environment, and the employee in this role uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners/copiers, and phones.
  • This is largely a sedentary role, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Compensation
  • The base compensation for this position will be determined on the candidate’s qualifications and the pay of other employees in the job function. Total compensation includes attractive paid leave programs, health benefits, and retirement plans.
  • In addition, the position is eligible for the accrual of compensatory time off for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, consistent with Harris County personnel policies and procedures.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
