Republic Services is seeking a Processing Technician to ensure safe, effective treatment and handling of containerized wastes. The role involves receiving, screening, unloading, treating, and tracking waste streams and residuals at the facility.

Responsibilities include verifying manifests, directing off-loading, using handheld scanners for inventory, forklift operations, and sampling waste for analysis. Detail-oriented candidates who can manage multiple tasks will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use light equipment, such as forklift and pallet-jack.
• Basic knowledge of computer operations to properly operate handheld scanners.
• Skilled using hand and shop tools.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, signs, and processes incoming manifests, noting any discrepancies.
• Directs off-loading operations for receipt of primarily non bulk containers into the facility’s storage systems for process and handling.
• Uses handheld bar code scanner as the primary internal recordkeeping system to ensure the safe, effective handling and inventory of containerized wastes.
• Forklift operations to facilitate the handling of all non-bulk containerized wastes.
• Collects and analyzes waste samples.
• Consolidates like-wastes wherever possible in order to improve economic outcomes.
• Store waste containers properly in all designated plant storage areas.
• Assists in the generation of internal bar code labels, and accurately places them on all containers as they are received.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
