Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for Power Generation Containerization to design, integrate, and launch large‑scale containerized power solutions for data centers. You will own electrical architecture, system integration, and manufacturing readiness from concept through validation at the Sidney, OH site.

You will collaborate with mechanical, applications, manufacturing, sourcing, and customers to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable packaged power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 3+ years of progressive electrical design experience in power generation or related industries.
• 3+ years experience interpreting electrical specifications and customer requirements.
• 2+ years designing power distribution systems and generation equipment.
• 2+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for containerized and modular power generation packages for data center applications.
• Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring drawings, cable schedules and panel layouts.
• Design and integrate diesel and natural gas generator systems, switchgear, ATS, and medium/low voltage distribution.
• Perform load flow, sizing, short-circuit, voltage drop and protection coordination analyses.
• Support data center power solutions, reliability architectures (N, N+1, 2N), and interconnection with customer infrastructure.
• Drive standardization and development of containerized power platforms; support FAT/SAT and commissioning.
