Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal’s Consumer & Retail Group seeks a Management Consulting Associate for undergraduate and non-MBA master’s degree holders, with a September 2027 start for full-time intake. The role offers hands-on client work across growth, transformation, and operations within a fast-paced consulting environment.

You will receive structured onboarding, mentorship, and opportunities to build your professional network through CRG events and firm-wide programs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or non-MBA master’s degree from a top university.
• Internship or relevant experience in consumer/retail, consulting, or corporate roles with financial/operational focus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
• Analytical and data-fluent, able to distill complex insights into clear actions.
• Creative problem-solver with a talent for building tools and streamlining processes.
• Commercially minded with experience in proposal development.
• Polished communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Willing to travel up to 70% (Monday–Friday)

Responsibilities

• Growth strategy and implementation for client engagements.
• Lead large-scale transformation initiatives.
• M&A, carve-out and post-merger integration projects.
• Operations, merchandising, and channel optimization work.
• Program management and office of the PMO responsibilities.
• Interim leadership and client-facing delivery.
• Digital & analytics / IT strategy support.
• Engage with clients and senior leadership to drive impact.
