Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consumer Insights & Analytics Manager to lead research initiatives and manage our data market insights analytics group. This role will be responsible for embodying and championing the voice of the consumer within the walls of Stella and Chewy’s. This will be accomplished by creating a holistic view of the marketplace, utilizing and marrying insights across all consumer data points including POS data, Panel data, and any/all custom research into one cohesive story. Preferred candidate for this role will have a proven track record of providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across organizations they have worked for. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of consumer behavior, and a passion for uncovering actionable insights that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketplace Data Analytics
  • Direct Manager for the Market Insights Sr Analyst, providing guidance on project prioritization, helping curate consumer-centric data stories, and being the final sign-off for all standardized reporting before it is published to the organization.
  • Support for all Market Insights inquiries involving POS data, including direct from retailer data reads and 3rd party data sources covering point-of-sale, consumer panel, and eCommerce databases.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources to deliver strategic insights that drive business decisions.
  • Create a detailed reporting structure that effectively communicates key takeaways and implications to be shared with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Consumer Research and Analysis:
  • Develop and own the Marketing Insights Learning Agenda for the company, prioritizing requests from multiple groups by mapping all back to brand and business strategy.
  • Lead the relationship with the company’s research partners, ensuring the company is well represented and we are extracting the right level of value from them.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations based on consumer research and market insights.
  • Partner with the Innovation team to bring consumer input into the new product development process from initial ideation through testing prototypes in market.
  • Play an integral role in developing and maintaining the long-term innovation pipeline with the goal of identifying whitespace opportunities within the marketplace and our portfolio.
  • Qualitative Research
  • Design and lead qualitative research with methodologies chosen to best answer the objective(s) of the research at hand. This includes, but is not limited to, focus groups, ethnographies, shop-alongs, IHUTs, and online boards to gather actionable insights.
  • Quantitative Research
  • Design, write, execute, and analyze quantitative research surveys including, but not limited to, packaging research, claims work, and concept testing, to provide actionable insight based on consumer input.
  • Market Trends and Competitive Analysis:
  • Stay abreast of sociocultural trends and macroeconomic impacts to business in order to add color to primary research and inform business strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Identify, develop, and distribute industry intelligence and knowledge to ensure cross-functional teams are informed given it is a quickly evolving category.
  • Brand Health Tracking
  • Lead and manage bi-annual Brand Health Study and reflect progress of key indicators in the marketing dashboard.
  • Research Methodology and Best Practices:
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance our research processes and methodologies to ensure relevance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred but not required; can be supplanted with real-world experience.
  • Proven experience (6+ years) in consumer insights, POS/panel data analytics, market research, or a related field, preferably in pet or other CPG products.
  • Must have a proven track record with both data analytics as well as consumer insights.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Able to write and execute your own surveys while also managing survey panel providers.
  • Robust experience with proven success garnering actionable insights from POS data (Nielsen/NIQ, IRI/Circana) and with panel data (Nielsen OmniShopper, Numerator, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency tying multiple data sources together into a holistic, impactful story with actionable takeaways.
  • Must demonstrate command over Power BI and Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with similar tools to the aforementioned is also acceptable.
  • Experience with data languages like SQL, R, Python are a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear and actionable insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be flexible and capable of adapting to a continuously evolving workplace environment.
