Brock & Stout Attorneys at Law in Dothan, Alabama is seeking an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney to handle Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters for individuals and families. Prior consumer bankruptcy experience is preferred, but candidates developing a bankruptcy practice are encouraged to apply.

The role focuses on client-centered service with a collaborative team. Compensation is commensurate with experience in a growing firm with multiple Alabama offices.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school is required.
• Active license and good standing with the Alabama State Bar, or ability to become licensed in Alabama.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
• Review financial records, creditor information, income documents, assets, debts, and other information to prepare bankruptcy cases.
• Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, motions and other filings.
• Represent clients at 341 meetings, hearings, and bankruptcy court proceedings.
• Collaborate with paralegals and staff to address trustee or creditor issues.
• Communicate and negotiate with trustees, creditors, and opposing counsel.
