Position Summary

As a Consumable Territory Manager at STERIS, you are the primary contact and sales consultant responsible for selling and supporting the SPD Reprocessing portfolio of Consumable products. You will be responsible for protecting and expanding the base of business for Instrument Cleaning Chemistries and Sterility Assurance Products within hospitals and surgery centers.

This is a remote-based, customer-facing position. To support and service our customers in this territory, candidates must be based in North Dakota. The territory covers North Dakota, South Dakota, and Northern Minnesota.

What you will do as a Consumable Territory Manager
  1. Develop, communicate, and execute a strategic business plan for the Consumable product line.
  2. Ensure proper pre-call planning and preparedness; establish routine call patterns and customer visits within the territory.
  3. Define top business priorities and activities; work diligently to maintain focus on proactive measures and minimize reactive elements.
  4. Achieve financial objectives through developing and executing a yearly business plan for Consumable products, forecasting accurately on a monthly/quarterly basis, and meeting all business unit objectives (revenue, gross margin, focus product).
  5. Meet or exceed customer expectations and communicate customer needs effectively through appropriate channels.
  6. Participate in customer group functions and associations such as SGNA, APIC, CS, and AORN to integrate into the customer’s business environment.
  7. Identify and understand customer goals and match our products, services, and technologies to solve their issues.
  8. Utilize value-added services like TSSR, in-service videos, sizing studies, equipment audits, CEU training, and proportioners to differentiate STERIS from competitors.
  9. Maintain thorough knowledge of GPO contracts and their application to accounts.
  10. Participate in product training to stay informed about STERIS products, services, and technologies.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3 years of successful sales experience
    • Ability to comply with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
    • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Preferred:
    • 2 years of successful consumables sales experience
    • Proven ability to sell in the SPD space, manage large product portfolios, and negotiate large deals with decision-makers
    • Strong understanding of hospital buying processes including roles of National Accounts, GPO, IDN, and distributors

Compensation and Additional Details

Pay range: $55,000 with target earnings of $100,000-110,000. Incentive plan eligibility applies. Pay rates depend on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
