Position Summary

As aConsumable Territory Managerat STERIS, you are the primary contact and sales consultant responsible for selling and supporting theSPD Reprocessingportfolio of Consumable products. You will be responsible for protecting and expanding the base amount of business for Instrument Cleaning Chemistries and Sterility Assurance Products within hospitals and surgery centers.

This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our Customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of one of the following states: North Dakota. This territory covers North Dakota, South Dakota, and Northern Minnesota.

What you will do as a Consumable Territory Manager

  • Develop, communicate, and execute a strategic business plan for Consumable product line.
  • Assure proper pre-call planning and preparedness; and establish routine call patterns and Customer visits within territory.
  • Define top business priorities and activities; and work diligently to maintain course on proactive measures and minimize reactive elements.
  • Achieve financial objectives through development and execution of yearly business plan for Consumable products, execute an accurate forecast for products on monthly/quarterly basis, and achieve all business unit objectives (revenue, gross margin, and focus product).
  • Take care of Customers’ needs by meeting/exceeding customer expectations and communicating Customers’ needs throughout appropriate channels.
  • Integrate into our Customer’s business world via membership to Customer group functions and associations. Participates in local chapters, SGNA, APIC, CS and AORN, etc.
  • Probe to fully uncover and understand Customer goals and effectively match our products, services and technologies to assist in solving Customer issues.
  • Utilize value added services in the selling process to differentiate STERIS from its competitors. This includes: TSSR, Inservice video, sizing studies, equipment audits, CEU training and proportioners.
  • Ensure a thorough knowledge of GPO contracts and their application to individual accounts.
  • Participate in new product sales training program(s) to ensure knowledge of STERIS products, services, and technologies, and how the application of these can assist the Customer in meeting their objectives.

The Experience, Skills And Abilities Needed

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3 years of successful sales experience
    • Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
    • Ability to travel up to 40%

  • Preferred:
    • 2 years of successful Consumables experience
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully sell in the SPD space, manage large portfolio of products across multiple sell points, and successfully negotiate large deals with senior decision makers
    • Strong understanding of the hospital buying process including the role of National Accounts, GPO, IDN and distributors

Pay range for this opportunity is $55,000. This position is incentive plan eligible, at target earnings of $100,000-110,000.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
