Position Summary

As a Consumable Territory Manager at STERIS, you are the primary contact and sales consultant responsible for selling and supporting the Infection Prevention Technologies (IPT) Consumable portfolio of products. You will be responsible for protecting and expanding the business for Instrument Cleaning Chemistries and Sterility Assurance Products within hospitals and surgery centers.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Ohio, specifically in Columbus, to support and service our Customers in this territory.

What you will do as a Consumable Territory Manager
  1. Develop, communicate, and execute a strategic business plan for the Consumable product line.
  2. Ensure proper pre-call planning and establish routine customer visits within the territory.
  3. Define top business priorities and work proactively to achieve them, minimizing reactive measures.
  4. Achieve financial objectives by developing and executing annual business plans, forecasting monthly/quarterly sales, and meeting revenue, gross margin, and focus product targets.
  5. Meet or exceed customer expectations and communicate customer needs effectively.
  6. Participate in customer group functions and associations such as SGNA, APIC, CS, and AORN.
  7. Understand customer goals and align our products and services to meet their needs.
  8. Utilize value-added services like TSSR, in-service videos, sizing studies, equipment audits, CEU training, and proportioners to differentiate STERIS.
  9. Maintain knowledge of GPO contracts and their application.
  10. Participate in product training to stay informed about STERIS offerings and how they benefit customers.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience
  • Ability to meet hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Preferred

  • 2 years of consumables sales experience
  • Experience selling in the SPD space, managing large portfolios, and negotiating with decision-makers
  • Understanding of hospital buying processes, including roles of National Accounts, GPO, IDN, and distributors
