Job summary

Amentum seeks a Consulting Structural Engineer I to join our Englewood, CO office. The engineer will provide guidance, calculations, analyses, and recommendations for complex projects within schedule and budget.

Responsibilities include leading engineer teams, preparing drawings, developing calculations, presenting to clients, and ensuring compliance with codes such as AISC, ASCE 7, and IBC. The role requires US citizenship and PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
• In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, ACI 318).
• Experience with STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing.
• Strong communication and ability to review vendor documents for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews and approves drawings.
• Leads groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists.
• Develops and documents calculations for assignments.
• Presents expert testimony before regulatory bodies and courts.
• Interprets codes and permitting requirements for discipline.
