Job summary

The Jonus Group is seeking a Consulting Actuary to lead multidisciplinary actuarial projects for a diverse client base, including insurance companies, self-insured groups, program managers, and Insurtech firms. Flexible remote or hybrid work options are available within select U.S.

locations. You will guide rate indications, reserve analyses, product development, and regulatory support while mentoring junior staff and presenting findings to clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years actuarial experience in Property and Casualty.
• ACAS or FCAS designation is required.
• Experience in Commercial Lines, Workers’ Compensation or Medical Malpractice is preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and other analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage actuarial consulting projects, including rate level indications, class plan analyses, reserve analyses, and product development.
• Perform peer reviews of analyses completed by other actuarial professionals.
• Organize and present competitive and market information in a clear and meaningful format.
• Prepare supporting exhibits for rate and rule filings, including explanatory language and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Analyze data and recommend appropriate solutions and alternatives based on project findings.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding project objectives, methodologies, findings, and results.
• Prepare polished, professional reports presenting actuarial findings and recommendations.
• Develop proposals tailored to client needs and project requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in actuarial methodologies.
• Manage project-related invoicing and administrative responsibilities.
• Work independently while providing oversight and guidance to other actuarial professionals as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of actuarial experience within the Property and Casualty insurance industry.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000 annually
