Jonus Group in California seeks a Consulting Actuary to lead actuarial and multidisciplinary consulting projects for diverse clients, including insurers, self-insureds, program managers, and Insurtech firms. This role delivers strategic, data-driven solutions across rate level indications, class plan analyses, reserve analyses, and product development.

The position offers flexible remote or hybrid work options within select U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of actuarial experience in Property and Casualty.
• ACAS or FCAS designation is required.
• Commercial Lines, Workers’ Compensation or Medical Malpractice experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage actuarial consulting projects including rate level indications, reserve analyses, and product development.
• Perform peer reviews of analyses completed by other actuarial professionals.
• Organize and present competitive and market information clearly.
• Prepare supporting exhibits for rate and rule filings and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Analyze data and recommend solutions based on project findings.
• Communicate with clients regarding objectives, methodologies, findings, and results.
• Prepare polished reports presenting actuarial findings and recommendations.
• Develop proposals tailored to client needs and project requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and actuarial methodologies.
• Manage project invoicing and administrative tasks.
• Work independently while supervising other actuarial professionals as needed.

This role provides an opportunity to deliver strategic, data-driven solutions across areas such as rate level indications, class plan analyses, reserve analyses, product development, and other actuarial consulting initiatives.

• Lead and manage actuarial consulting projects, including rate level indications, class plan analyses, reserve analyses, and product development.
• Perform peer reviews of analyses completed by other actuarial professionals.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of actuarial experience within the Property and Casualty insurance industry.
• ACAS or FCAS designation required.
• Commercial Lines experience and/or expertise in Workers’ Compensation or Medical Malpractice preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant analytical and business software.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and oversee the work of other actuarial professionals.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality deliverables.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000 annually
