About this job

The Consultant is responsible for working with the stores and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems to keep facilities operating smoothly and to ensure that store production is not impeded.

This position functions as a coordinator supporting store facilities-related issues. It is responsible for tracking updates, scheduling maintenance repairs, and holding vendors accountable to meet SLAs through our vendor network.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

1. Providing facilities maintenance assistance to CarMax store locations on a regional basis, supporting approximately 20,000 work orders annually.
2. Receiving and resolving store facility work requests and emergency calls through a network of CarMax facility vendors/contractors. Utilizing the CarMax eFacilities system to manage and follow up on work requests, dispatching, and status updates.
3. Collaborating with store, regional, and corporate management on store facility issues.
4. Evaluating CarMax store facility needs to ensure adherence to standards, evaluating solutions, estimating costs, developing budgets, and coordinating repairs with contractors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 1-2 years experience in project management or facilities preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in construction/facilities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks on time-sensitive schedules required.
• Understanding of business and facilities processes and procedures to meet business objectives.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
• Database and spreadsheet experience required.
• A minimum of 10% travel is required.
• Availability for 24-hour emergency calls required.

Work Location and Arrangement

This position will have a hybrid work arrangement and will work from our Richmond, Virginia, Home Office location.
