About This Job

The Consultant is responsible for working with stores and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems, ensuring facilities operate smoothly and store production is not impeded. This role acts as a coordinator for facilities issues, tracks updates, schedules maintenance, and holds vendors accountable to meet SLA’s through our vendor network.

Responsibilities

1. Provide facilities maintenance support to CarMax store locations, supporting approximately 20,000 work orders annually.
2. Manage store facility work requests and emergency calls via CarMax eFacilities system, including dispatching and follow-up.
3. Collaborate with store, regional, and corporate management on facility issues.
4. Assess facility needs, evaluate solutions, estimate costs, develop budgets, and coordinate repairs with contractors.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in project management or facilities preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in construction or facilities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks on time-sensitive schedules required.
• Understanding of business and facilities processes to meet objectives.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
• Database and spreadsheet experience required.
• Minimum 10% travel required.
• Availability for 24-hour emergency calls required.

Work Details

Position offers a hybrid work arrangement from our Richmond, VA office. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
