Base pay range

$175.00/hr - $350.00/hr

WHO WE NEED:

Arootah is seeking experienced Directors of Operations to consult our prestigious client base. As a consultant, you will work with Hedge Fund and Family Office clients to provide expert advice. You should have hands-on experience managing daily operations of a leading Hedge Fund or Family Office.

What You'll Do

• Conduct best practice reviews.
• Develop realistic and effective action plans.
• Break goals into actionable steps.
• Advise on vendor selection and oversight.
• Create and implement policies, procedures, and controls.
• Evaluate client progress using KPIs and scoring matrices.
• Handle special projects or other needs.

Who You Are

• Manage daily operations, including trade lifecycle, accounting, recordkeeping, settlement, and issue resolution.
• Hire, mentor, evaluate performance, and develop staff skills.
• Set performance objectives aligned with project goals, focusing on scalable, efficient processes.
• Maintain operational control environment and recommend risk reduction strategies.
• Stay updated on technology and market changes to guide team objectives and strategic initiatives.
• Lead audit processes, ensuring controls are effective and issues are addressed.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Serve as subject matter expert in fund accounting and performance systems.
• Oversee reconciliations with third parties.
• Manage vendor relationships and communicate issues effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field.
• MBA or M.S. is a plus.
• 10+ years experience as a Director of Operations in a Hedge Fund or Family Office.
• Strong knowledge of asset classes, instruments, strategies, and capital markets.
• Extensive experience with industry technology and software.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and management skills.
• Attention to detail and initiative.
• Team-oriented with interpersonal skills to work across all levels.
