Job summary

Oakmont Education is seeking a Construction Instructor to lead the NCCER Certification process for students in the construction pathway, including OSHA 10 and NCCER Core credentials. The role emphasizes employability and soft skills, with collaboration across the school team.

The instructor will maintain records, register students, and ensure timely credentialing while modeling professional behavior and career-ready competencies for urban learners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction or related field; NCCER proficiency preferred.
• Ohio DOE vocational teacher license/permit preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to improving educational and career opportunities for urban students.

Responsibilities

• Use approved curricula, teach workplace safety, and award OSHA 10 Basic Safety certification.
• Develop and coordinate a pacing guide aligned with NCCER curricula to ensure adequate time for participants to achieve industry credentials.
• Mentor, coach, and advise students on workforce skills needed to gain employment, using personal experience to inspire leadership and optimism.
• Maintain a detailed tracking system and complete all certification steps to ensure timely credentialing of participants.
• Provide required performance reports; participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and/or committees.
• Assist in building relationships with construction partners in coordination with the School Director, Director of Career-Technical Education, and Placement Specialist.
