Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America in Columbus, OH seeks an operations technician for a cement terminal role. You will operate and monitor bulk terminal equipment, unload railcars and trucks, and perform hands-on maintenance to minimize downtime.

Job description

Load and unload cement from railcars and trucks while ensuring efficient and safe material flow

What Are We Looking For

• Experience in industrial, mechanical, rail, construction, or heavy equipment environments (not just warehouse)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools for troubleshooting and basic repairs
• Experience operating or working around heavy equipment, conveyors, or bulk material systems
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of equipment and daily operations
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Reliable work ethic with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork

This role works in an industrial terminal environment with exposure to weather, moving equipment, and varying noise levels. Personal protective equipment is provided and required. The position may involve physical activity such as climbing, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
