The State of Missouri MoDOT is seeking a construction technician at the O’Fallon Project Office to provide semi-skilled technical support on engineering projects under moderate supervision.

You will perform tests (air, slump, moisture, compaction, gradation, density), assist in preparing final plans and estimates, and help inspect bituminous and concrete plants and paving. You will maintain records and ensure compliance with standards.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• Successful completion of a work simulation exam and a medical-physical examination.

Responsabilidades

• Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor.
• Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assists in inspection of bituminous and Portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving.
• Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections; keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensures projects meet department standards.
• Enters and records information regarding construction projects into computer programs.
