Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking engineering field interns (Construction Inspector) to inspect routine construction items for conformance to plans, specifications, and contract terms, under moderate supervision. The location is Central Office in Jefferson City, MO.

This internship fills two positions. Typical duties include assisting with testing, obtaining field samples, reviewing specs, calculating take-offs, and creating spreadsheets, as well as coordinating

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in a related bachelor's or post-bachelor's program.
• 30 credit hours completed toward current degree; official transcripts may be required.
• GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Office staff with testing and field sampling.
• Coordinate and perform construction inspections for contract compliance.
• Prepare final plans, change orders, payment estimates, and cost computations.
• Maintain construction documentation, records, and progress reports.
• Provide field checks for surveying operations and staking on bridges and interchanges.
