Construction Technical Support Specialist - Remote Position

The Installation Performance and Quality group primarily supports Vestas' construction projects. The Construction Technical Support Specialist assists the Construction Team and Installation Performance Management through onsite and remote support, tooling support, CIM assistance, engineering interface, and meetings. Expected minimum 50% travel and on-site work at construction sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an interface between Construction and Engineering via TSL tickets.
  • Develop and modify documentation for complex and new tasks.
  • Communicate relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Perform advanced problem analysis using technical documentation and tools, applying root cause analysis to resolve issues.
  • Execute work effectively using technical skills, review documentation, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve inquiries.
  • Participate in technical meetings representing Vestas from the field perspective.
  • Support high installation quality by verifying procedures and control measures.
  • Follow up on project-related engineering issues to ensure execution excellence.
  • Manage internal requests and processes like documentation and ECRs.
  • Ensure adherence to QSE requirements through quality and safety walks.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years' experience in the wind industry is beneficial.
  • Up-to-date with Vestas training or able to complete it.
  • GWO or equivalent certifications, LOTO, High angle rescue, etc.
  • Completed A-Level training, Technical Support Internship, and Performance Excellence support.
  • Experience with construction documentation and Job Book review.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced use of VOB data and diagnostic systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Procore.
  • Experience in installation activities, walkdowns, commissioning, leak checks, and problem solving.
  • Understanding of contract elements and project schedules and budgets.

Competencies:

The specialist will collaborate with field technicians, contribute to project efficiency, mentor site personnel, and suggest improvements. The role involves local implementation with a broad application of management processes across North America.
