About The Role

The Construction Technician-Line Worker is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining poles, cables, and conduits; installing aerial and buried cables with associated hardware to build jobs; running fiber optic, copper, and other necessary cables in the telecommunications space, both aerial and underground, such as in manholes. The role involves maintaining safety standards, operating heavy machinery, splicing cables, and other duties as assigned. The position requires travel, including work on weekends, holidays, and overtime, and is safety-sensitive.

What You’ll Do

• Install, repair, and maintain poles.
• Install aerial cables (fiber and copper); set up services for customers, including installing, connecting, testing, or adjusting equipment.
• Measure signal strength, inspect lines, and assess transmission characteristics.
• Access areas for line stringing or installing equipment using trucks, climbing, or entering tunnels and trenches.
• String and pull cables, use construction equipment, and understand blueprints and design specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, repair route issues, and splice copper and fiber cables.

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course and Buck Squeeze (Pole Climbing Certifications).
• Proficient with construction equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Pole climbing certification.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL.
• Ability to pass DOT certification and travel.
• Strong time-management and attention to detail.
