Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, seeks a Surveyor for project work in Terre Haute, IN. Under supervision of the Party Chief, you will determine conformance to specifications and perform survey layout and inspection.

Proficiency with Trimble GPS equipment and experience producing accurate as-built documentation are required. This role involves field surveys, recording elevations, and coordinating with craft personnel to ensure accurate project data and timely turnover of drawings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience producing accurate as-built documentation and coordinating final drawing turn-ins.
• Strong background in construction surveying, including shooting anchor bolts, setting elevations, and layout verification.
• Proficiency with Trimble GPS surveying equipment (required).

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
• Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features
• Record calls or readings and note station numbers in notebook
• Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark
• Measure distance between survey points with measuring tools
• Mark measuring points with markers, paint sticks, or stakes
• Holds level or stadia rod to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for maps and surveys
• Clear vegetation or obstructions from line of survey
• Load/unload equipment and prepare for daily jobs
• Take on special activities as assigned and help others complete tasks
