Job summary

Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking an Engineer III to join our Construction & Survey team in Schaumburg and Vernon Hills.

The successful candidate will perform construction observation and inspection, develop designs and specifications, mentor junior engineers, and manage field data collection. A PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months is required; four years of civil engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Four (4) years civil engineering or design experience including two years as a major contributor or project lead.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project representative for roadway and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Perform construction observation and inspection with field surveying and quantity measurement.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost opinions.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project managers and clients.
