Position Title: Construction Surveillance Technician II

Location: Arlington, TX

Security Clearance Level: Interim Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain up to TS/SCI with Counterintelligence polygraph.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Air Force (AF) Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS) assists the AF security authority in overseeing enhanced Security Objectives supporting AF SAP interests through active security operations, processes, mechanisms, and management. This includes multi-disciplinary security support, specialized analytical/program protection, and responsiveness to dynamic SAP security situations.

The primary function of the Construction Surveillance Technician is to provide daily security support for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) construction efforts. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, identifying, and recommending improvements for policies, procedures, or systems.
  • Identifying threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
  • Managing uniformed escort personnel and logs; training, briefing, and ensuring timely reporting of security incidents.
  • Enforcing customers' Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Performing administrative support functions as directed.
  • Conducting inspections of delivery materials for secure spaces.
  • Photographing and monitoring construction of secure spaces, documenting all steps to support final accreditation.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, and oversight of team members.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience or 7-9 years of experience without a degree.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
  • Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is 5 years.
  • Must complete the DoD SAPCO-approved SAPNP training if performing personnel security functions.
  • Desired: Knowledge of ICD 705 (SCIFs and compliance with IC physical and technical security requirements).
  • Complete additional safety training or certifications (e.g., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection, OSHA Confined Space) within 30 days of hire.
  • Obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course within 30 days of hire.
