Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a Construction Superintendent for retail, restaurant, and commercial buildouts across the NYC tri-state area. You will run day-to-day field operations, coordinate trades, and ensure safety and quality from mobilization through turnover.

You will manage multiple sites, review drawings, and maintain site documentation while communicating with clients and stakeholders. In-person roles with strong project velocity and brand-standard execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent on commercial buildouts, retail, or restaurant projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on fast-paced projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to NY/NJ/CT.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day field operations on assigned retail, restaurant, or commercial buildout projects from mobilization through turnover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trade partners to keep brand-rollout schedules on track.
• Conduct daily site walks and quality control checks, and manage the punch list through close-out.
• Enforce jobsite safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate inspections with local building departments, landlords, and code officials.
• Manage material and equipment deliveries and resolve field logistics issues as they arise.
• Track daily progress against schedule and flag delays or field conditions to the PM team.
• Review drawings and specs to confirm proper installation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, architects, and landlords on active sites.
• Maintain daily job site reports and documentation.

You'll take full ownership of assigned job sites, working under tight schedules to deliver multi-site brand programs and single-location buildouts on time and to spec, coordinating trades, subcontractors, and inspections along the way. Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent on commercial buildout, retail, or restaurant construction projects
• Experience running multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously on fast-paced, schedule-driven projects
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, codes, and inspection processes in the NYC tri-state area
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• OSHA 30 certification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across NY, NJ, and CT

Preferred

• Experience with multi-site retail or restaurant rollout programs for national brands
• Familiarity with ICRA protocols or night-shift/phased remodel work
• Experience with Procore or similar project management/scheduling software

Compensation and Benefits
