Job summary

Henderson Scott US seeks a Construction Superintendent for ground-up multifamily projects in NYC’s outer boroughs. You’ll lead full-site management, coordinating daily with subcontractors to maintain schedules, safety, and quality.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years on ground-up multifamily sites, knowledge of DOB/OSHA regulations, and OSHA 30 certification. DOB license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOB and OSHA site safety regulations and coordination with PMs.

Responsibilities

• Manage field operations from mobilization through punch list and turnover.
• Coordinate daily with subcontractors to review progress, schedule, deliveries, and changes.
• Enforce site safety protocols per OSHA and company standards.
• Identify and resolve design or field conflicts to avoid delays.
• Maintain site documentation including RFI logs, change orders, submittals, and daily reports.
• Interface with clients, architects, PMs, and consultants to align goals and design intent.
• Conduct site meetings, walkthroughs, and inspections to achieve milestones.
• Ensure work complies with local codes and permitting requirements.

COMPENSATION: $110,000-$150,000 base salary (depending on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Superintendent | Ground-Up Multifamily Projects will be responsible for full-site management, overseeing day-to-day field operations on fast-paced ground-up projects. This role is ideal for a driven, detail-oriented leader who thrives in dynamic environments and understands the unique demands of working on large-scale developments in tight urban conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage field operations from mobilization through punch list and turnover
• Coordinate daily with subcontractors to review progress, schedule, deliveries, and change orders
• Enforce site safety protocols in full compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Identify and resolve design or field conflicts proactively to avoid delays
• Maintain thorough site documentation including RFI logs, change orders, submittals, and daily reports
• Interface directly with clients, architects, project managers, and consultants to ensure alignment on project goals, quality, and design intent
• Conduct site meetings, walkthroughs, and inspections to ensure milestones are achieved
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local codes and permitting requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of experience working on ground-up multifamily as an Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or related title.
• Knowledge on DOB and OSHA site safety regulations, managing inspections and site walkthroughs, coordinating with Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers and upper management to maintain accurate project oversight.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• DOB license is preferred, but not required.
