Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Columbus offers an internship/co-op in Superintendent duties. You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project, working with field leaders to learn site mobilization, safety, scheduling, and quality control.

This paid role provides hands-on experience in a top design/build contractor environment. Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil/Architectural/Construction Eng or Construction Management, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Enrolled in Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management program.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and strong work ethic.
• Active Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations exposure from site mobilization to project completion.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and inspections.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and scheduling.
• Observe quality inspections to ensure conformance to plans and standards.

A Day In The Life

As a Superintendent Intern/Co-op, every day brings a new lesson. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth.

Here’s What You Can Expect

• Field Operations – Gain exposure to how ARCO manages daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion.
• Safety Leadership – Participate in daily safety meetings, job site inspections, and learn how to promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Scheduling & Coordination – Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to help keep projects on schedule.
• Quality Control – Observe and support quality inspections to ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and ARCO standards.

Necessary Qualifications

• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Enrolled in Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management degree program
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Active Driver's License
