Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Pittsburgh seeks a Superintendent Intern/Co-op to learn field operations hands-on while assisting seasoned leaders on real projects. You’ll participate in daily site activities, safety meetings, scheduling coordination, and quality inspections, gaining exposure across the project lifecycle and understanding ARCO’s design/build approach.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or higher (on 4.0 scale).
• Enrolled in Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management degree program.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Active Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations – exposure to daily site activities, from mobilization to completion.
• Safety Leadership – participate in daily safety meetings and promote safety culture.
• Scheduling & Coordination – assist with subcontractor coordination and progress monitoring.
• Quality Control – observe and support inspections to meet project plans and ARCO standards.

A Day In The Life

As a Superintendent Intern/Co-op, every day brings a new lesson. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth.

Here’s What You Can Expect

• Field Operations – Gain exposure to how ARCO manages daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion.
• Safety Leadership – Participate in daily safety meetings, job site inspections, and learn how to promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Scheduling & Coordination – Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to help keep projects on schedule.
• Quality Control – Observe and support quality inspections to ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and ARCO standards.

Necessary Qualifications

• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Enrolled in Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management degree program
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Active Driver's License
