Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Pittsburgh is seeking a hands-on Superintendent Intern/Co-op. You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project and work alongside seasoned field leaders to learn how projects are built from the ground up.

This internship emphasizes field operations, safety leadership, scheduling, and quality control, with opportunities to participate in site mobilization, inspections, and coordination with subcontractors while earning competitive pay and housing support.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Enrolled in civil/architectural/construction engineering or construction management degree program.
• Co-op or intern construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and strong work ethic.
• Active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations exposure from site mobilization to project completion.
• Safety leadership through daily safety meetings and inspections.
• Scheduling and coordination of subcontractor activities to keep projects on schedule.
• Observe and support quality inspections according to plans and ARCO standards.

A Day In The Life

As a Superintendent Intern/Co-op, every day brings a new lesson. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth.

Here’s What You Can Expect

• Field Operations – Gain exposure to how ARCO manages daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion.
• Safety Leadership – Participate in daily safety meetings, job site inspections, and learn how to promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Scheduling & Coordination – Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to help keep projects on schedule.
• Quality Control – Observe and support quality inspections to ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and ARCO standards.

Necessary Qualifications

• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Enrolled in Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management degree program
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Active Driver's License
