Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Savannah, GA is seeking a Superintendent Intern/Co-op to gain hands-on field exposure across the full project lifecycle. You’ll work with experienced field leaders to learn operations, safety, scheduling, and quality control.

You’ll participate in daily site activities, attend meetings, review plans, and build skills with mentoring from project teams while pursuing an accredited construction program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering program.
• Driver's License.
• Excellent verbal communication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
• Co-op or intern experience in construction preferred, but not required.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations: assist daily site activities from mobilization to project completion.
• Safety Leadership: participate in daily safety meetings and site inspections.
• Scheduling & Coordination: assist with subcontractor coordination and progress tracking.
• Quality Control: observe inspections to ensure work meets plans and ARCO standards.
• Trade Coordination: work with superintendents and subs to manage sequencing.
• Progress Documentation: help document daily site activities and take progress photos.
• Project Meetings: attend coordination meetings and owner walkthroughs.
• Plan & Drawing Review: become familiar with construction drawings and shop drawings.
• Job Site Walks: conduct walks to monitor progress and safety.
• Training & Learning: participate in offsite trainings and biweekly sessions.
• Team Collaboration: work with PMs and field teams.
