Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Superintendent Intern/Co-op in Atlanta, GA. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while learning from experienced field leaders and supporting daily site activities.

Responsibilities include field operations, safety leadership, scheduling coordination, quality control, and documenting progress. This hands-on program builds skills and professional development within a top design/build firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• Driver's License
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Previous Co-op or intern experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Field Operations – Exposure to daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion.
• Safety Leadership – Participate in daily safety meetings and site inspections to promote a safe culture.
• Scheduling & Coordination – Assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to keep projects on schedule.
• Quality Control – Observe and support quality inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and ARCO standards.
• Site Logistics – Understand site logistics and workflow.
• Trade Coordination – Learn sequencing and how to resolve field issues with subs.
• Progress Documentation – Document daily activities, take progress photos, and prepare daily reports.
• Project Meetings – Attend subcontractor coordination meetings and owner walkthroughs.
• Plan & Drawing Review – Learn construction drawings and shop drawings in the field.
• Job Site Walks – Conduct site walks with experienced Superintendents to monitor progress.
• Training & Learning – Participate in offsite trainings and biweekly learning sessions.
• Team Collaboration – Work with Project Managers and field teams to understand office-field collaboration.
