Commonwealth of Kentucky's Kentucky State Police in Frankfort, KY seeks a Construction Superintendent II to manage agency capital projects, repairs, and improvements of state facilities. This is a full-time executive branch role with overtime eligibility, requiring coordination of design, scope, schedules, and cost estimates across multiple sites.

Responsabilités

• Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the design and construction of agency Capital Construction andMaintenance Projects.
• Coordinates and monitors critical project timeframes, plans, and schedules, and coordinates projectpersonnel or consultants.
• Participates in scope of work development for new projects and provides information for requiredreports or inquiries related to construction projects.
• Plans, oversees, evaluates, and monitors progress of Capital Project construction tasks, reviewscertification of tests and inspections, scheduling, and project cost estimates and revisions in eComm.
• Acts as the liaison between the Kentucky State Police and the Department of Engineering andConstruction and Real Properties (DECA), as well as design and contracting firms.
• Develops and maintains project documentation, reviews proposed plans and drawings, reviews scope ofwork documents, cost estimates, and budgetary information.
• Coordinates with the agency Budget Branch for Capital Construction and Maintenance Projects.

This position is responsible for the management and coordination of capital projects for major construction,repairs, and improvements of agency owned facilities located throughout the Commonwealth. These facilitiesinclude 16 Posts, the Training Academy, office buildings, and various structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the design and construction of agency Capital Construction andMaintenance Projects.
• Coordinates and monitors critical project timeframes, plans, and schedules, and coordinates projectpersonnel or consultants.
• Participates in scope of work development for new projects and provides information for requiredreports or inquiries related to construction projects.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Six years of experience as construction estimator, general contractor, architect, engineer, construction superintendent, in construction trades or in supervising one or more trades crews in major construction, or major renovation or major maintenance repair projects.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience as listed above will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title will be exposed to noise, dirt, temperature variances and other conditions inherent to construction sites.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
