Job summary

ATI Group is seeking a motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for projects in Ankeny, the Des Moines metro, and across Iowa. The ideal candidate will coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Candidates should have a strong background in commercial/industrial construction, familiarity with local codes, and OSHA 10/30 or First Aid/CPR preferred. ATI offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; a degree in Construction Management preferred.
• Self-starter with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising construction sites, especially commercial/industrial.

Construction Superintendent

ATI Group is currently seeking a motivated, solutions-oriented Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for our construction projects in Ankeny, the Des Moines metro, and across Iowa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction sites, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Experience with commercial/industrial construction is highly preferred. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Manage daily on-site activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with local building codes.
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes and delays.
• Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, complying with OSHA and local regulations.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between on-site teams and project management, providing regular updates on progress and issues.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work performed, materials used, and any incidents or delays.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.
• Skills: Self-starter with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Technology: Proficient with standard office software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PDF tools. Ability to navigate cloud-based platforms from desktop and mobile device (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or similar).
• Knowledge: Understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
• Experience: Construction supervision with experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• Certifications: OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred; First Aid/CPR certification preferred. ATI can provide certification training if needed.

Additional Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with greater Ankeny/Des Moines construction markets.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with local permitting processes and building inspections.
