Construction Superintendent - Austin, TX OR Open to Relocation
Our client is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to support large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facility construction projects in Austin, TX. Candidates must have experience leading field construction activities within semiconductor, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, or industrial environments. Semiconductor construction experience is strongly preferred, though candidates with relevant mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, or industrial construction experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities, subcontractors, and craft labor
- Drive day-to-day field execution from mobilization through final turnover
- Develop and execute construction schedules while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks
- Coordinate with Project Managers, design teams, stakeholders, and trade partners to maintain alignment across all phases of construction
- Lead construction progress meetings and provide field status updates
- Manage site logistics, workforce deployment, equipment deliveries, and material coordination
- Enforce safety, quality, and construction standards across all project activities
- Support commissioning, startup, turnover, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities
- Resolve field issues, maintain schedule performance, and drive project milestones to completion
- Coordinate construction activities within active manufacturing and production environments when required

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of construction experience within industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or semiconductor environments
- 3+ years of Superintendent or Field Leadership experience
- Experience leading subcontractors, trade partners, and day-to-day field execution activities
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and project execution
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, and P&IDs
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, turnover, and operational readiness activities
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Full-time onsite presence with the ability to support demanding project schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Semiconductor fab, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical construction experience
- Experience managing MEP, CSA, Electrical, Process Utility, or Tool Install scopes
- Experience supporting brownfield expansions, facility upgrades, or occupied facilities
- OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E certification
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
Schedule & Compensation
- Approximately 6 x 10-hour shifts per week (60+ hours/week)
- Team provides 24/7 project support, including nights and weekends
- 1.5x overtime pay after 40 hours
- Significant overtime available throughout the project
- Long-term project supporting a major semiconductor facility expansion

This is a field-focused Superintendent position, not a desk PM role. Successful candidates will have a proven track record leading field execution, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedule performance, and delivering complex construction projects in fast-paced industrial or semiconductor environments
