Job summary

ESPO Engineering is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper for on-site work in Dallas, TX. The role covers day-to-day accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance, with emphasis on construction accounting and Sage 100 Contractor.

The candidate will manage general ledger activities, assist with month-end close, and handle union payroll reporting. Strong Excel skills and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required.
• Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience processing payroll required.
• Union payroll and prevailing wage knowledge is a plus.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the company's general ledger, books, records, and supporting schedules.
• Assist in preparing interim and year-end financial statements.
• Audit transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and correct posting.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Review and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of assets and financial transactions.
• Assist with bank relationships and reporting requirements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
