Job summary

Cardinal Compliance Consultants, LLC is seeking a Site Safety Officer to lead on-site safety for a major construction project in Plain City, Ohio. The role focuses on in-field safety oversight, hazard identification, and timely corrective actions to prevent incidents.

You will work with craft personnel and supervision, conduct inspections, deliver toolbox talks, and support incident investigations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and client safety plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of each workday in the field, actively observing construction activities and interacting with workers and supervisors.
• Conduct routine jobsite inspections and safety observations to identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and non-compliance with project requirements.
• Engage directly with workers and supervisors to address safety concerns and facilitate timely corrective actions.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities, including work at heights, electrical work, excavation, material handling, mobile equipment operations, lifting and rigging.
• Verify compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, site-specific safety plans, and established safe work practices.
• Participate in pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and daily safety planning activities.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety orientations, and other field-based safety training.
