seeks a Project Safety Coordinator to support the Safety Manager and Director of Safety in cultivating a strong safety culture on the Madison, WI project. You will participate in pre-installation meetings, conduct site safety orientations, review JSAs, maintain safety records, and issue work permits while coordinating with project leadership to ensure compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
• Experience: 1yr plus in the construction industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-installation meetings with the project team and review site-specific safety requirements with all trade partners prior to mobilization.
• Work with project teams to complete thorough JSA’s for each definable feature of work during the project planning phase.
• Conduct site safety orientation and training with all employees and trade partners upon arrival to the project site.
• Participate in enforcing Vogel Bros. Building Co. Safety Program and site safety plan policies.
• Conduct daily safety assessments and provide site leadership with reports including corrective actions and follow-up.
• Address observed safety violations to protect employees and partners; notify site leadership when actions are taken.
• Promote craft worker empowerment toward maintaining safe working conditions and hazard mitigation.
• Assist leadership with ensuring safety supplies and PPE are available for tasks.
• Participate in daily crew huddles and assist with hazard identification for current activities.
• Participate in weekly safety meetings with project staff and with trade partners leadership.
• Provide weekly safety updates to the Safety Manager; assist with incident investigations and root-cause analysis on-site.
• Respond to OSHA site visits and coordinate with Safety Manager/Director of Safety.
• Provide general safety administrative support and assist with on-site training events.
