Job summary

Clark Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to help implement safe working practices and protect the wellbeing of workers on active jobsites in Charleston, SC. You will support the Safety, Health and Environmental program and work with project teams to promote a culture of care.

The role involves field site duties, training, hazard identification, and incident investigation, with a focus on compliance and continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in safety and health or related discipline.
• Demonstrated construction safety experience is acceptable.
• Willingness to train and coach others on safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety programs and comply with safety standards.
• Attend required safety trainings and site walkarounds.
• Coach employees and trade partners on health and safety requirements.
• Identify hazards and advise on mitigation to ensure compliance.
• Conduct site walks and report safety performance and plans.
• Collaborate with field supervision on complex safety aspects.
• Investigate incidents and report findings in a timely manner.
• Keep up-to-date with Clark’s safety policies and regulations.
• Develop industry relationships to support Clark leadership.
• Support recruitment and attract top safety talent.
• Anticipate stakeholder needs and deliver high-quality outcomes.
