Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks a Safety Engineer to safeguard employees, trade partners, and the public on world-class projects in Charleston, SC. You will enforce safety policies, review complex safety plans, and partner with subcontractors to ensure timely documentation and hazard mitigation.

You will lead safety education for jobsite personnel, build a culture of care, and drive a safety vision across the project team, aligning with Clark's standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction safety experience with relevant degree or demonstrated safety/trade experience.
• Ability to communicate and influence supervisors, peers and external partners.
• Proven training and experience in crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds and heavy equipment safety.
• Strong prioritization in a deadline-driven environment.
• Agile, data-driven approach to achieving objectives while balancing short and long term goals.
• Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: motivated, results oriented, ethical, team player.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Clark safety culture on a project.
• Oversee safety of employees, trade partners and the public.
• Enforce safety programs and federal, state, local standards.
• Lead review of safety plans (crane, confined space, JAAs).
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely documentation.
• Identify exposures and recommend corrective action.
• Develop and implement project-specific safety programs.
• Partner with field supervision to embed safety in planning.
• Create safety education for jobsite personnel based on activities.
• Drive safety vision and align the team to a safe workplace.
• Facilitate third party safety reviews including OSHA.
• Cultivate industry relationships to attract opportunities and talent.
