Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience on utility-scale energy or power generation projects.
• 5+ years in a site leadership role.
• Proven experience with BESS, simple cycle gas turbines, or CC/CCGT projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC execution methodologies and construction management best practices.
• Knowledge of battery storage technologies, HV electrical systems, and balance‑of‑plant construction.
• Experience managing large subcontractor organizations and multidiscipline teams.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead the onsite execution of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), simple cycle gas turbine plants, and combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power generation facilities. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of projects from site mobilization through commissioning and turnover. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety excellence, and a proven track record managing complex power generation and energy storage construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site construction activities for BESS, simple cycle, and combined cycle power generation projects.
• Establish and maintain a strong safety culture that ensures compliance with Quanta Power Solutions, client, OSHA, and environmental requirements.
• Manage field construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and craft labor across multiple disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
• Coordinate installation of major equipment including battery storage systems, gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, generators, inverters, transformers, switchgear, substations, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Develop and execute construction plans, work packages, site logistics strategies, and workforce plans to support project objectives.
• Monitor construction schedules, project costs, productivity, and quality performance to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks while driving resolution of field issues and technical challenges.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, commissioning, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Lead daily coordination meetings and provide accurate reporting on site progress, safety performance, workforce metrics, and project milestones.
• Ensure all construction activities meet applicable codes, specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
• Support system energization, startup, commissioning, performance testing, and final plant turnover activities.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience with at least 5 years in a site leadership role on utility-scale energy or power generation projects.
• Proven experience managing BESS, simple cycle gas turbine, combined cycle gas turbine, or related power infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC project execution methodologies and construction management best practices.
• Knowledge of battery storage technologies, power conversion systems, gas turbine generation equipment, high-voltage electrical systems, and balance-of-plant construction.
• Experience managing large subcontractor organizations and multidiscipline construction teams.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms.
• Ability to travel and work at project sites throughout North America as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with utility‑scale BESS projects exceeding 50 MW/100 MWh.
• Experience with GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, Wärtsilä, Tesla Megapack, Fluence, Powin, or similar energy technologies.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent certification.
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
