Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Construction Manager for utility-scale renewable energy projects in Dallas, Texas. This role involves managing all phases of field construction, ensuring project delivery within budget and timelines, while coordinating with various stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of construction management experience in the energy sector, along with strong communication and leadership skills. A proactive approach to safety and adherence to regulations is also essential.
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the on-site execution and successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar and BESS.
This role will lead all phases of field construction from groundbreaking through completion and commercial operation. This position involves overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, and guaranteeing that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Also, this position requires close collaboration with internal engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of design and field execution.
Provide comprehensive oversight of all on-site construction activities for utility-scale power generation facilities, including PV and BESS.
Support pre-construction efforts, including procurement coordination, preparation of RFPs, bid evaluation/selection of qualified vendors, and technical support for major equipment packages and solutions.
Manage and coordinate EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure strict adherence to project specifications, construction schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Collaborate closely with internal engineering, procurement, environmental, and permitting teams to ensure integrated and efficient project execution.
Monitor construction schedules and budgets; report deviations and implement corrective actions.
Conduct routine site inspections to verify work progress and enforce project QA/QC procedures.
Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and photographic progress records, to ensure comprehensive project tracking.
Ensure all construction activities are performed in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as environmental and permitting requirements.
Lead weekly construction meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee field support for commissioning activities and ensure a smooth transition to the operations team at project handover.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall business operations
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
7+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in the power generation or energy sector.
Proven track record managing EPC contractors or self-performed construction on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and contract management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred experience in :
Utility-scale renewable energy projects (PV, Wind, BESS).
Familiarity with permitting and interconnection processes.
Experience with remote or multi-site project management.
