Job summary

Qayaq Construction is seeking a General Laborer to support various physical tasks on construction sites. Responsibilities include site preparation and cleanup, trench digging, scaffolding setup, demolition, and debris removal.

The role also involves loading and distributing materials, tools, and equipment to designated areas. May operate a range of hand and power tools such as air hammers, tampers, cement mixers, hoists, and measuring instruments.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of general labor or construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps and other temporary structures.
• Load, unload, and distribute building materials, tools and machinery.
• Measure, mark, and record layout dimensions for construction activities.
• Operate pumps, compressors, or generators to power tools and move materials.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete using portable cement mixers.
• Control and direct traffic around work zones.
• Dig trenches or ditches, backfill excavations, and compact or level earth.
