Job summary

Ferrovial, through Webber (Ferrovial Construction), seeks an Intern for a 12-week program in Houston, TX, to support the Construction Services Department across multiple service lines including Concrete Paving, Barrier Wall, Precast Concrete, Asset Management, and Geotechnical.

The intern will perform entry-level engineering support, assist with cost tracking, scheduling, reports, and takeoffs while gaining hands-on experience in highway and bridge construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, organize, review and distribute information to the construction services group in regards to cost, schedules, projections, policies and new initiatives
• Maintain communication with project teams in regards to all construction services activities
• Work with estimating pre-bid in regards to construction services work activities production and pricing
• Work with project teams in regards to construction services work activities such as scheduling, and quantity/cost tracking
• Assist construction services groups in updating, maintaining, publishing monthly reports
• Create and maintain all required logs as necessary
• Assist different groups with Takeoffs related to construction services activities
• Calculate pricing and issue contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist scheduling Material Deliveries such as Aggregates, Mesh, Shotcrete, etc. as required
• Assist Construction Services Groups with Quality Control compliance of the various operations
• Assist with Field Operations and coordination of crews
• Manage Compliance with standards and specifications
• Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Work with Ride Quality group to help collect pavement surface data and support grinding operation
• Write reports, business correspondence, and documents
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to the construction services group, project teams and employees of the organization
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and plans.
• Other unlisted duties will be assigned
• Occasional travel to all regions in TX
