Job summary

Sumerixa seeks a planner to take a vertical construction project and build the CPM schedule using Oracle Primavera P6. You will work with project managers and superintendents, developing schedules detailed enough to direct work rather than merely report progress.

The role includes merging 3D model data with the schedule, integrating pull planning with CPM logic, and using linear schedules and takt time analysis where repetitive work drives the timeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or applicable discipline.
• Experience preparing CPM schedules for vertical construction projects.
• Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6.
• Ability to carry several project schedules in a region at once.
• Willingness to travel to regional project sites weekly.
• Willingness to obtain AACE PSP certification within six months of hire.
• Strong computer skills and aptitude to learn new software.
• Ability to synthesize information and propose strategies to resolve issues.
• Strong written and spoken communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop construction schedules with project managers and superintendents.
• Support proposal and preconstruction schedules.
• Use historical data to build activity durations and validate progress.
• Monitor and analyze detailed schedules (2,500–5,000 activities).
• Update and report status weekly, at project sites.
• Reconcile actual vs. planned progress and propose action plans.
• Develop visual schedules and linear sequences for production flows.
• Analyze repetitive workflows and optimize cycle times.
• Provide monthly schedule narratives and KPIs for executives.
