Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Sales Coordinator to support the outside sales program and provide professional customer service to contractors. You will be a primary contact for outside sales reps and customers, supply advice, perform estimates, process orders, and manage order fulfillment and delivery scheduling.

The role requires reading blueprints, understanding construction practices, and working with a team to meet sales and profit goals. A flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales or customer service environment.
• Knowledge of the building materials industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand construction practices.
• Strong multitasking, organization, prioritization and coordination skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining relationships with contractor customers by providing superior customer service.
• Act as a point of contact at the store for products, estimates and delivery scheduling.
• Ensure all lines of communication are tied together.
• Support the outside sales program to meet sales and profit goals.
• Process orders and ensure materials are available for timely shipment.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform material take-offs from blueprints promptly and accurately.
• Review construction documents to bid material needs and provide adequate support.
• Identify personal growth needs and complete required training.
• Commit to ongoing learning on products, packages and procedures.
