Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee and enforce all safety measures on active construction projects. You will inspect work areas, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company procedures, and you will implement changes to improve workplace safety.

Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will lead on-site safety meetings, develop safe work procedures, investigate incidents, and support risk strategies across projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1020, 1926) and apply expertise on job sites.
• Identify and mitigate health and safety hazards in the workplace.
• Support project teams with safe work processes (JSAs, THAs, Safe Work Procedures).
• Enforce OBR safety policies and procedures at job sites.
• Lead on-site safety meetings and ensure personnel compliance.
• Provide safety expertise to employees, subcontractors, and clients throughout projects.
• Assist in executing the company’s risk and safety strategy.
• Pursue ongoing professional safety training and education.
